Our IRC channel has been empty for the last 6 months so I'm finding ways, to persuade YOU, the visitor, to be apart of our IRC clique.

IRC is short for Internet Relay Chat and is very simple to use. All you guys need is an IRC client to be able to connect to our chat room. Now, I know there is a Chatango chat in the frontpage, but Chatango itself is nothing more than a limited piece of chatting software. There is very little customization to Chatango and sometimes, the conversations can get spammy. IRC, on the otherhand depends on clients to implement customizable content. Furthermore, Chatango can be very sluggish at times while IRC provides a lightweight chatting environment. Therefore, I look to IRC for an organized and lightweight chatting environment.

IRC is not purely for chatting. Since it's an open protocol, IRC's users can freely create multi-purposed robots. In addition to that, many IRC clients also have built in DCC support. DCC stands for Direct Client to Client and is a method for one on one chatting, or direct file transfer. If we get activity in our IRC channels, I can setup DCC file servers to serve anime files to our community. Aeonex is also working on anime trivia questions to feed into our current trivia bot.

Well, I do know about IRC but I really don't feel a need to get on, and IRC is really, really dull and boring. Have to log in all the time and stuff as well.

i knew this site had it, didn't really understand what it was, but the main reason for not getting on is simply i come here to watch anime instead of chat, when i want to chat i just post a topic or something
