First book I really loved was the Giver.

I read it's loose sequel, Gathering Blue, and I loved it even more.

Messenger was a disappointment, though. :'(

The first book, i ever really loved reading, was
The Dark Tower, a 7-book series created by Stephen King, if you hear Stephen King, and think horror, thats the opposite of this book, its more of an adventure. The first book starts it off kind of slow, but it gets so much better, or you can skip the first book, and start on the second, then re-read the first to get background info on everything thats going on.

heres the wiki:[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_(series)]Dark Tower Wiki Pageurl]

the first book I have ever read till the end was named "Generation Doof", translated it means "generation dump"
it deals with the dumpness (can I say that?) the people are confronted with
like you say that this pair of shoes looks so great cause it's a new trend, but it's just an old pair of sandals which is totally rotten
a very great book
on the cover is a goldfish which swims in a glass which is much toooo small for him :

I can't completely say that there was a book that go me interested, but the first author that caught my attention was Edgar Allan Poe.

Oh, I'm such a liar! :-\ The first book I loved a lot was "A Clockwork Orange". It's an English piece that deals with violence, a little bit of sex, and brainwashing, not to mention that crime is very big in the beginning.

The first books I really loved were the Goosebumps books by R.L. Stine. When I was a little kid they were the only things my parents could get me to willingly read. Of course thats a lot different now!
