I downloaded and read a *fake* version of book 7 a month before the actual book was released. In fact, I pre-ordered the real book, and when it came in the mail, I ripped it open and turned to the last page, just to see a different ending! I was very upset, but excited to read the real book, straight from Rowling's mind.
That being said, I agree; I was disappointed in book 7. To be honest, I enjoyed the fake version I read even more than the real one.

Mostly because there was a bit more action between Harry and Ginny. In the fake I read, Ginny went on the Horcrux hunt with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and it gave room for the romance between Ginny and Harry to build. In the real version, Ginny is simply cut out.
The books are absolutely wonderful; I'm an English Literature major at my university, so I love to read and study all kinds of books. The Potter series was genius, and I applaud Rowling for her magnificent work. I do agree, however, with those who say that the series became less passionate as they came towards a close. I think she began writing more for the sake of fan service than for the passion of writing. Shakespeare did the same thing with Henry V after Henry IV; Falstaff was a lovable character, and worth reviving for a new play, but it should've been for love of playwriting, not love of audience. The same applies to Potter, in my opinion.
