as for a guess, Islington sounds familiar, *perhaps because it's a city* so I'm thinking a classic, don't remember any character named Door in the ones I've read.. a sherlock holmes book perhaps. not pride or prejudice.. I'm drawing blanks *which is harder than you might think*

this book is not a classic its only a few years old if i remember correctly, the auther has gotten really popular in recent years and had two of his other books turned into movies... this one needs to be a movie...
