Hmm... I read about 2 books a week, and I KNOW there have been some bad ones... *tries to think*
I didn't like the hobbit at all. It took me a MONTH to read... and considering my average rate of 'consumption', that is something. hmmm... *trying to think of horrible books*
Well, any of the more recent books by these authors:
Terry Goodkind (the last 3 are ok, but the 4 prior made me die inside)
Laurall K. Hamilton(about the last 6 are horrible, though the first 8 were ok)
Christen Feehan (the Dark series, anyway) TALK ABOUT REPETITIVE!!!
Really sad part is that these are 3 of my favorite authors, and I read all of the books even though I am sure I am dumber for having done so. T_T
OH, and as for TWILIGHT series... (warning massive spoilers)

Ok, I could understand the whole 'teenager in love' 'teenager abandoned/emo' thing, I could deal with it... but when a 18 year old marries a vampire, goes on her honeymoon, gets knocked up TWO DAYS LATER, and has morning sickness/starts showing TWO DAYS AFTER THAT, and then has an accelerated pregnancy with a half vamp baby, who is then born after only 3 months or whatever, THEN said baby grows up at an abnormal rate, oh and don't forget teen mommy is a vamp now too, and THEN the big bad counsel is gonna come and punish them or whatever *breaths* and people wonder WHY teenagers get these stupid ideas?! MY GOD! What kind of weak, lame story line/plot is that?! I seriously have lost what little respect I DID, at ONE POINT have for that author, and the public who read things by her.
Maybe it is worse for me because I have actually been to the setting of the book (before they were published, thank you) and spoke with some girls who have been since, and it is a HUGE tourist town now, they even have a fake parking spot for the dr. cullen or whatever, and have 'assigned' houses as the character houses. *sigh* all respect is gone.
Sorry bout that rant, but I have MAJOR issues with the twilight series.
In school I was forced to read "To Kill a Mocking Bird". It bored the crap out of me, no joke. I mean I kind of like the plot, but it just dragged on and on and on.. And when action or something was about to happen you kind of expected it. Nothing unexpected really in that book.
I have a feeling I am going to get punched in the face for this...BUT back when it was popular I tried reading Eragon......I read a lot which could be what has set my standards but I couldn't find a plot anywhere other than a big light flashing "teen angst!!!!". >.>' I'm sure some people loved it, but I just couldn't. ... Could be my lack of testosterone.
A Brave New World. if you read it I don't think I would need to exlpain myself.
WHAT!!! A Brave New World is the best dystopia novel ever written and one of the best works of literature the human race has ever produced!
and for books that suck, The sound and the fury by Faulkner, Other Faulkner books are good but stay away from this one if you like understanding what you are reading.
A Tale of Two Cities i had to read that for school... the only thing it was good for was if I needed two fall alseep it would put me out before the end of a page
"We only live twice screw up the first, ruin the second"
"Hold your breath count to three
and do a dance to death with me"
~Sacred-Souls
"If you live a lie long enough, It will become your truth."
Actually, most children books suck. Not really the ones that were written by bestselling authors or award-winning series. The picture books. They're simple and some of them were lame. I think there's some good ones, but few sucked.
