Well this recent anime was a bit of an unusual title. If you can't stand large amounts of conversation then don't bother trying to watch the show.
Plot: Araragi Koyomi is a Japanese high school student who one day, while walking up the stairs of his school, catches a falling girl only to find that she weighs hardly anything. After some deliberation he manages to convince the girl, who's rather violent and carries staplers and other office tools around as weapons, to let him help her. Araragi takes the girl to a man called Oshino who had helped Araragi with his own supernatural problem in the past. Throughout the story Araragi finds more girls with problems that he can't help but try to solve.
Characters: Araragi is not my favorite protagonist ever but there's nothing really wrong with him. He beats up the occasional grade-school girl and often seems to be a bit of a pervert but hey, we all do at some point.
The female protagonist, Senjougohara Hitagi, is one of my favorite characters for this past season's anime list. She's violent, intelligent, witty, and more than a bit scary.
The rest of the supporting characters (including a lesbian-stalker, a few grade-school girls, a cat girl, and the obligatory loli vampire) all add a bit to the story and help keep things interesting.
Sound: I like the OP and the ED songs but for the most part the music during the show is rather unremarkable.
Art: The art isn't really top notch. There's a lot of stills abuse and more than a little staring at CG backgrounds but it works with the style of the show.
Overall: This is an anime that revolves around conversation. There are certain points of action (like when the main character is thrown about a room as his intestines spill out of his stomach) but those are usually over quick and don't occur very often. The focus of the show is the characters and their relationships. I really enjoyed watching the show and the plot of each arc was interesting. All I can say is that I look forward to more in the future.
Albedo, watching this stuff so you don't have to.
