Toonami was an anime/action block that aired on Cartoon Network for several years. It aired shows like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star,a nd many other dubbed anime series. it started out a daily block from 4pm - 6pm and slowly changed over the years from late night, to weekends only, and then only on Saturdays. It was finally canceled in September of 2008. Toonami is what introduced many people to anime including many people who come to this site. It was a great influence on us and for some people (like me) is something we grew up with. It was a great source of entertainment for many people.

I will always remember the good old days of coming home from school and watching Tenchi Muyo, DBZ and Gundam Wing. Those were good times.

This is where i pay my respects to something that shaped my interests for the past 11 years.

Man are you kidding I used to watch toonami like that too, dang that sucks, that'd be the only tv i ever watched, for the same exact reasons actually....

i didn't notice that toonami was gone but i wouldn't of been surprised because cartoon network changed over the years.

yep i was those kids that watched voltron and thunder cats, i was expecting an even older line up too but it was fun back in the day.

This makes me sad. Though, I am very glad it was on when it was. First place I ever watched anime.

yeah i remember when they played igpx and bobobobobo good stuff but now cartoon network went to this real aspect so they don't play as many good cartoons

I didn't have cable, so I would watch episodes of Gundam Wing, DBZ, Tenchi Muyo, and Outlaw Star at my friends house when I could.

What exactly happened to Tom? I heard they killed him or something.
