A Very good article about someone's journey through a video game addiction and how he overcame it.. I highly recommend it if you can spare the time. Being a rather active gamer myself it's kind of scary thinking what would happen if I didn't keep in check

i stopped reading about a quarter through... i don't feel like dealing with depression right now, i might read it all later. but being 18 with no job in college just to kill time and living with parents still, and no girlfriend i end up looking alot like this guy, cept i won't pay ro play a game in stead i only play free ones and watch anime my life sucks

I think it's funny how it keeps talking about how his life used to be so great. I think, then there are those of us whose live suck with or without the video games...

It makes me laugh when i read things like this.... I do feel sorry for the parties involved but we always see people trying to blame the developers for making the game too 'addictive'

No it is never the developers 'fault' for making there games more 'entertaining' If they did a proper in depth psychoanalysis on these people you'd probably fine they have an addictive personality, these same people would be the type that are susceptible to a variety of addictions.

I find these things laughable addiction is addiction, it doesn't matter what is causing its a neurological condition, blaming the game companies is wrong, we don't blame drug companies for the addictions people get from subscribed medication.
