The worst manga you've ever read?? - Page 3

Neh, the worst one I read was Angel Sanctuary. I like it, but it got way too confusing and convoluted. I couldn't even finish it, because my library didn't have all of them. Have yet to even attempt to finish it online. Very odd manga...

Has to be "Marionette Generation" by Haruhiko Mikimoto which initially ran in Viz's Animerica Extra (i think)( and published flipped-style as a 5vol graphic novel with paperback-book binding. You know a manga is bad when even the manga-ka apologizes for it in the afterward, and is simply glad that it is over. No wonder Viz never published anything else from him.

My thought was, how did this rambling, random idea and plot-lacking consistency, plot-hole continuity-ridden rejetct from a middle school writing contest ever get past the receptionist, much less run to 5 vols? Oh don't get me wrong, the story as originally conceived was great: aspiring manga artist gets adopted by mysterious yet cute doll who plans on interfering with his (non-existant) love life and the Jr High School girl who dotes on him. Problem is multiple origins for the doll, multiple charcters that randomly show up for a chapter and then disappear completely. The manga-ka also admitted to scrapping the original plot after chapter 1 and making iit up as he went along. i'm just glad that Mikimoto returned to doing charcter designs instead of writing manga. go

A close secondi (and third) is "Saber Marionette J (and R)" and Clamp's "Angelic Layer". Saber Marionette just appeared to go nowhere fast. I didn't see the characters grow, and I kept wanting to smack everybody.

As to AL : The anime rocked, but the manga was so...flat, and flaky, even the art was hard on my eyes...everything was too out of focus and wavy. It was notihing like Chobits or their other works.

Honorable Mention goes to Junk Force (manga and novels) it was just -bleh- after the first half vol or so, and I lost interest

Ultimate Muscle. I thought it was quite cheesy. The main character was too dull for me

it's an one shot type, and it simply had no story , no quality, it had a bit of action but that doesn't suffice

dumb incest beep like Aki-sora needs to be brought in the back off the back of the storage files of unwanted manga by top men...it's horrible,...
