edit:
Now that's bugging the hell out of me, I saw it when I was young. The most distinctive things I can remeber are that the protagonist crucified a woman and killed her by wrapping razor wire around her at the climax, and in the end he was shot and killed by the hero, who I think was either a detective or cop. AHHHHH, curse my terrible memory...... If that sounds familiar to anyone please let me know.

Mind you this list as well as my manga one are both still in updating progress...literally... So my completed section of anime alone is probably only about 1/3 maybe 2/3 of the full set...

Bakemonogatari I finally watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it, would be better if they showed a bit more of the violence though.
